Kuwabatake
Acrylic Triptyc
I had the joy of visiting Japan in 2018 and again for a layover in 2020. Springtime always reminds me of leaving the airport with my mom, taking the bus to Ueno Park, just to see the cherry blossoms for a few hours before the next leg. We got lost, we were exhausted, but the memory of the cool air and the fluffy blossoms- Japan has a spot in my heart.
It’s been unseasonably warm in Denver, birds started chirping early here in March. Crocuses and tulips got confused and started blooming months ago. This painting was inspired by a cooler, springtime in Japan vision and is titled Kuwabatake, Mulbberry garden.
